Both Hollywood Reporter and BBC News has confirmed the new X-Files movie will start the production and schedules to launch in summer 2008.



David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) has recently told reporters that he will get a completed script for a new X-Files movie as early as this week. He also said his co-star in the 1998 TV series ’the X-Files’, Gillian Anderson will also make a comeback on this new movie.

Duchovny, appearing this weekend at the summer meeting of the Television Critics Association to promote his upcoming Showtime comedy Californication playing as a writer who tries to juggle his busy career, his relationship with his daughter and his ex-wife, as well as his appetite for beautiful women.

During the meeting, David has confirmed to the reporters that X-Files creator Chris Carter and longtime X-Files executive-producer Frank Spotnitz have written the early script, and that both he and series co-star Gillian Anderson are committed to the project. Carter will also take charge as the movie director.

The productions of the new movie will start in November, Duchovny said, and release it in Summer 2008 – 10 years after the first film was released.
