"Cloverfield" Kill the Transformers?

The rumors of a misterious movie trailer in Transformers has spreading like a disease for months in some blogger sites and youtube, even before the movie transformers made its premier.

An internet expert claims that the word Cloverfield have been on top of the Google trends list for the last couple of days way above the transformers itself.

Well, I didn’t notice it when I go to see the transformers movie for the first time, maybe too busy with my popcorn and the girl who sits beside me was so attractive, so I go to see the movie for the second time today just to watch what makes it so misterious.

The 2 minutes or so trailer opens, after presenting the Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot logos, with scenes of some kind of a going away party in NYC, while then a thundering roar earthquake kind of shakes breaking up and the people got panic, rushing up to the roof top and watch lower Manhattan erupted into a ball of fire. Then they make way down to the street just to witness a head of the statue of liberty flying down to the street. the clip ends with people screaming. That’s it.

So, for as long as the rests of the transformers movie going, I just sit back and thinking, why those people was so interested about the trailer? What makes it so special? Is it because the trailer’s footage is shot by a hand-held camera with a home-movie style, giving it a sort of a "Real Situation" or becasue the trailer did not mentioned any name of the movie title, just the name of producer J.J. Abrams and the words "In Theaters 1-18-08."

Then as soon as I get home, I surf the net to look for anything that I can find about Cloverfield. The top of search engine result is a press website, then a wine company and come third a home rent kind of website, so where is that "Misterious" trailer news? It was on the fourth list, AIC has a report of the misterious trailer from someone inside the company (Paramount?) that CLOVERFIELD is actually a giant monster movie, featuring something that’s being referred to internally as "The Parasite"



Well, once again it makes me thinking, a tiny parasite performing as a giant monster? Are they want to re-create something like that one-eye giant flying tentacles remote camera in the Matrix movie?

Later on my search, I find some writen report about one of the actor on the trailer screaming about (once again) a debatable quote of "A Lion" or "Alive". It makes me smile and said to myself, do I hear that? I must go and see the transformers movie once again! Oh dear, no!

Then I try to search for that trailer on youtube, and found one post of the movie trailer which has been deleted from the server, but I was lucky enough to get the screenshot of it from the other blog. I can understand why the trailer is missing, it is clearly against the copyright stuff.

But....when I try to access the www.cloverfieldmovie.com what I see there is just a white space. Now this is what I call "Misterious." Even if the site is already existed then I must be able to see what it looks like at its first appearing, but it’s blank too, no matches!

J.J Abrams, as the only suspect for producing the film, because the Bad Robot logo which is one of his shingle appears on the trailer, has nothig to say about it. The Paramount also deny about the existence of that upcoming movie. Then why it is on the first footage of a transformers movie?

Abrams actually being busy preparing the Star Trek XI movie, scheduled to be released in December next year.

The last one thing that I’m curious about is "In Theaters 1-18-08." The MTVmovie site has revealed that 1-18-08 is not a release date — but as an URL. Alright, I don’t care to mentioned any theory of what giant monster in Cloverfield actually is, we will see it later when that URL finally comes ’a live’ or ’a lion’?
